We are excited to serve you this summer. This is meant to provide insight into what Five Pines is doing to keep camp safe for your family and our community. Health Department mandates and organizational guidelines continue to change, so this announcement reflects today's environment.

We are organizing camp to minimize or eliminate a masking requirement and any spread of illness, especially COVID-19. Please contact us if you are concerned that any of the following guidelines might stop your child from enjoying Five Pines this summer.

Five Pines is required to work under the Berrien County Health Department and the mandates they receive from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). In addition, there are industry guidelines that inform us to help provide a safe camp for your family. Today, children are required to mask indoors. This affects 1st to 5th grade campers who are scheduled for 30 minutes indoors each day, and 6th-8th grade campers who will be bussed for two off-site activities.

We are planning to enhance safety as follows:

  • Ask parents to verify the health of campers daily and take temperatures.

  • Minimal contact registration and arrival.

  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.

  • Campers will move in community groups of 20 and distancing will be encouraged.

  • Eliminate close contact between community groups.

  • Wash hands with soap and water between activities and at lunchtime.

  • Sack-lunch or cafeteria-style food service (not buffet)

Keep checking here for updates as the MDHHS restrictions change. Always feel free to contact us with questions.

Thank you again for being part of Five Pines Ministries. We anticipate the best of best summers!
