What We Believe

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16)

  • We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. (Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1-3)

  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is true God and true man, one person in two natures. As true God, He has always existed and was never created. As true Man, He was  born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died by crucifixion, but rose bodily from the dead and ascended unto God the Father. We believe in His imminent, personal return in power and glory. (John 1:18; Matthew 1:23; 27:29-50; 28:1-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

  • We believe all people are born sinners and are in need of salvation. Our human nature is corrupted, and people cannot live a sinless live. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)

  • We believe God has provided salvation through the crucifixion and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, and that Jesus Christ voluntarily atoned for all the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. By His grace He offers this salvation to all. Salvation is received through faith alone. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:22)

  • We hold that those who believe in Jesus' death for sin and His resurrection from death do not come into judgement, but pass from death to life. Believers in Jesus are not judged, because He took God's judgement for sin in their place. Those who do not believe are judged already. (John 5:24; John 3:18)

  • We believe it is the responsibility of every saved person, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, to strive for holiness and to glorify God in personal conduct. (1 Peter 1:15)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20)
